It's very easy to think of the dinosaurs as a sort of monolith; the same sort of imperious, world-ruling creatures throughout their history though the names and shapes might change. But as the logical part of the mind which is sometimes drowned by awe knows, it's not so. The dinosaurs came from rather more humble beginnings than the likes of T. rex or Titanosaurus.
